Pack your beach bag with sunscreen, good book, snacks, and full cooler! Adventure travel  lovers that adore the beach….I’ve found an incredible off the beaten beach for you. It’s a favorite of Island Girls and Guys that surf and bbq, but it can also we a great sunning beach or walking along its miles of soft sand.

Let me introduce you to Kekaha Beach and MacArthur Park!

It’s away from the buzz of Poipu, the port of Lihue, and the resorts of Hanalei. At mile marker 27, Kekaha Beach has ample beach for all, views of Ni’ihau and Lehua, and small shelters for picnics if you get there early on the weekend. (Hint: the local kind typically score the choice shelters and park on the beach with their trucks. So, you don’t have to worry about parking. There are plenty of spots both in the lots and on the road. Don’t try parking on the sand. However, your best bet for picnicking is on the sand.)

Have you traveled to Kauai? What is your verdict on the best off the beaten beach on Kauai?  I always love to hear from other adventureros/as about your travels.
